PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN MATRIX (PRFM) THERAPY

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is converted to PRFM through a controlled process, creating a scaffold that serves to protect and preserve platelets. This procedure is used to rejuvenate and restore lost volume in the face.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) Therapy

This treatment uses components from your blood to create your own personalized dermal filler that minimizes fine lines, wrinkles and creases and restores volume for a smoother, more youthful appearance. It’s used to treat forehead creases, glabellar lines (sometimes called “elevens,” they’re vertical lines at the inside of the eyebrows), crow’s feet around the eyes, fine lines around the lips, acne scars, “marionette” lines around the mouth, and creases in the chin.

Where Can This Be Applied?

Upper Face

  • Glabellar line
  • Forehead area

Mid-Face

  • Periorbital lines
  • Tear troughs
  • Smile lines
  • -Acne scars

Lower Face

  • Perioral lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Chin crease

What to expect during the Treatment?

Consultation

A consultation is conducted to assess facial anatomy and asymmetries, discuss your goals, and review your medical history.

The Treatment

Prior to treatment, your face will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied. To prepare the PRFM, blood is drawn from the client and a sample is placed in a sterile chamber and spun using a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma from the red blood cells. PRFM is then injected into desired areas. The entire treatment takes about 60 to 90 minutes. As with any injection, redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at injection site may be experienced.

How Many Treatments are Needed?

The number of treatments vary per individual, the desired outcome, and your skin’s condition. We generally recommend a series of 3 treatments done 6 weeks apart.

What is the Downtime?

You can expect some redness and minor swelling following the treatment. We recommend you do not wash your face for a minimum of 6 hours post-treatment so please plan accordingly.
