Fuzz is for peaches, not your face. Dermaplaning is a non-chemical way to get rid of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) and exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells. Excess vellus hair can trap dirt, oils and dead skin cells, which can result in clogged pores, blotchy skin and acne breakouts. Removing the vellus hair and dead skin cells results in smoother, healthier skin with a fresh, glowing appearance. It also primes your skin to allow your skin care products to penetrate more effectively. Because dermaplaning doesn’t involve the use of chemicals or peeling agents, it’s a good option for individuals who are pregnant or nursing. You can opt for dermaplaning alone, or add it as a prep treatment that makes other skin care treatments more effective.

Our Certified Skin Care Specialist will use a surgical grade disposable scalpel to gently scrape the surface of your skin using light, feathering strokes. The results are immediate, with smooth, radiant “new skin.” As with any skin renewal treatment, your skin will be more at risk from UV, so protect it with a good SPF sunscreen. We recommend Revision Intellishade SPF 45. We recommend this treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, to coincide with the natural skin cell turnover approximately every 30 days. This treatment can’t be performed on skin with an active acne breakout.
“Will the hair grow back thicker and darker?”
Absolutely not. Hair color and thickness are not affected by this or any hair removal method.
SkinMedica Medical Peels
Your fresh, beautiful skin is just waiting to emerge. A chemical peel exfoliates the top layer of skin, removing dead skin cells, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, and revealing refreshed skin with a more even skin tone and smoother texture. We offer peels in different strengths to address a range of skin conditions. During your initial consultation with our nurse or nurse practitioner, you will receive a skin assessment to evaluate your skin condition. Our professional will recommend the appropriate peel regimen based on your needs.
The complete treatment is expected to take 45 minutes, which includes ample time to address any questions you may have, and a discussion on your post peel care. The actual application procedure is approximately 20 minutes. Tolerance to the procedure varies from patient to patient. Tingling or burning sensations are normal and expected reactions. A handheld fan can be used during the procedure to minimize discomfort, which usually subsides in a few minutes.

This procedure gives you fresh, renewed skin for a fresh, renewed you. Microdermabrasion removes the old, uneven outer layer of skin and exfoliates dead skin cells for a smooth, refreshed appearance. It reduces or eliminates enlarged pores, minimizes age spots, acne and acne scars, and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also stimulates the growth of new skin cells for a radiant, glowing complexion.
After your skin is cleansed, a hand held device is used in a specific pattern on areas of your face to exfoliate the surface of your skin and reveal the fresh skin beneath it. The device streams tiny crystals across your skin and uses a vacuum mechanism to remove skin debris as it is exfoliated. There is no downtime following this treatment. We recommend two microdermabrasion treatments per month at first, then one per month as a part of a maintenance treatment plan. The optimum number of treatments will vary depending on the condition of the skin and the client’s goals.
